Mom and her therapist, Albert, worked together yesterday morning....

Albert said he has never had a patient get 100% on their very first game in therapy and most don't get the game until they've tried it a few times...She got 100% twice!

Of course now she is bragging about her high scores! 100, 100, 96 and a 28 on the right hand but she says that doesn't count. The video games are designed to assist in therapy. They require her to move her hand in the motion needed to exercise the tendons. She is determined to have the very best recovery so she is working hard at therapy and at home to get the best possible results. I'm so proud she's my Mom!

By the way, we feel abundantly blessed to have found the Hand Institute and Albert. He is so good with her. He is patient, kind and has a great way with mom. They laugh a lot together and that's the best medicine. The Doctor that will be following her progress, Dr. Gaines, has much the same patient, attentive manner as her therapist, Albert. So glad that Paul recommended that we research this center! And best of all it's part of the Lake Butler hospital so she can have as many treatments as necessary unlimited and it will all be covered by insurance! Hallelujah!
After working hard, she got all fixed up to go back home, only we decided to go window shopping for a laptop for her. She hasn't bought one yet but she is thinking long and hard about getting one. I really hope she does because I think she'll feel more connected to everyone.
All in all, she had a good day!
be blessed,
Katie
