As you may know by now, I received a call from county attorney Bill Oren this morning to let me know the sentencing of Velma Poindexter has been postponed. He stated to me that he has never had this happen before. But, it seems that the other sister whom was involved to some extent has come forward and confessed she was the one who beat me with the ball bat. Now, after all the testimony to the contrary, the judge wants to sort this out before continuing with the sentencing.
To me this is just a ploy to create reasonable doubt. I don't know, but it may just work. This is so wrong in so many ways. Charges should have been brought against this other person a long time ago. Like the night it happened. This is wrong! But, I give them credit for sticking together, supporting each other no matter what. They have that drive that allows them to lie, cheat or kill to get to where they want to be.
Not saying that I haven't had support. I have and it is appreciated so much! But our legal system is geared to support and embrace criminals rights. I'm not sure what the outcome of this postponement will be all I can do is pray that it is right and just. I don't know if I want to go through to much more of this, put Megan through anymore of this.
