3/14

All in all a good day. Started off rough because we couldn't get Mom's meds regulated to take care of the pain because they let them lapse during the night. Once we got the pain under control she was actually able to go for a walk. We walked to the other end of the hallway and back and she did great (did this twice today). She also got to take a real shower today with plastic trash bags taped around both arms.

I'm concerned about depression but we are working hard to keep her spirits up. Hoping that the doctor will recommend someone for her to talk to as part of her therapy and I'm pretty sure that he will do so.

She's sleeping comfortably right now. Today she had visitors while I took a nap...Janet Bright, Phil from H&R Block, and Michael are the ones I saw. Kitty kept her company and blow dried her hair while I took Zack to meet his sister in law so he could spend a few days at Chris and Brittany's house. Zack was thrilled to get out of the hospital for a change of scenery. I'm flying him home on the 22nd.

They just upped her pain meds so that should help keep the break through pain down.

Surgery on Tuesday and then we will have a plan for the next steps. I'll keep everyone posted.

Good night,
Katie
