Today Mom is doing okay. Yesterday was rough, her tummy was upset, she was down in the dumps and then she laid awake for about 2 -3 hours last night. This morning she is taking a nap and seems to be in better spirits. Please keep those prayers for the TV next door to go on the fritz!
Up til now I have steered away from the issue of the dog that did this to Mom because I have been focusing on Mom getting better. However last night Mom asked the question to our brother "What have you decided to do about Percy?" and the answer was "I don't know". That certainly wasn't the answer I was expecting. I understand loving a dog and feeling like it's your child, I understand and I am sympathetic. However, the consensus seems to be that when a dog bites the hand that feeds it is time for it to go. Mom has been bitten 5 times, the last landing her in a hospital stay that has not yet ended and tomorrow is day 14. Is there any question that this dog needs to be laid to rest? Many people have heard Mom's story and 100% have told her that if it were their dog it would've been put down instantly in variety of ways.
Mom can't go back to her own house as long as Percy is there. For me and many other members of our family there is no question or doubt what needs to happen. What will it take for this to be handled properly? How could anyone see the actual damage, see the pictures, and watch their own mother suffer and not put things into perspective.

katie you need to call animal control and have them come get the dog. somebody has to take control and do the right thing. it seems nobody else will take that job, neither anita or michael, so you need to do it.
